Jim Sliney Jr
Been around long enough to say I found my stride. I like working with people and teams to find the best way to serve others. I have been a candy striper, phlebotomist, medical assistant, clinical trial coordinator, patient advocate, hospice caregiver, fundraiser, teacher, speaker…the common thread has always been people when they take on the identity of “patient”.
I was a floater in a busy New York medical group where I worked at the side of doctors in practically every department, including assisting with countless endoscopic procedures. I worked in AIDS research in the 80s at St Vincent’s in NYC. I’ve been published in several fields, worked as a developmental editor, and co-authored a novel. I’m currently on 2 different nonprofit boards, and have served on 2 others. I develop online learning curricula, managed an online community, and built a helpline from scratch. And I bring every minute of all of that, with heart, to everything I do.
